Privacy Policy

kfluent ("we", "the site") is a free Korean-learning resource. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and improve it. We do not sell your personal data, and the site has no accounts or logins.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how the site is used, in aggregate. This may include your approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We use this to improve the lessons and word lists — not to identify you personally.

On-device progress. When you take a quiz or use the flashcards, your progress (which cards you've cleared, your streak) is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email or payment details — the site is free with no sign-up.

Cookies & similar technologies

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage. Local storage (described above) is used to remember your learning progress. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the lessons and word lists will still work.

Third-party services

The site runs on Cloudflare (hosting and delivery) and uses Google Analytics. Illustrations and assets are served from Cloudflare storage. These providers process technical data (such as your IP address) as needed to deliver the site securely.

Email (future)

We do not currently collect email addresses. If we add an optional newsletter or downloadable study material in the future, it will be opt-in, and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time. This policy will be updated before any such collection begins.

Children

kfluent is intended for a general audience learning Korean. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can opt out of Google Analytics with browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and you can clear local storage at any time through your browser. Because we don't hold personal accounts, there is no profile to delete on our side.
