About kfluent

kfluent teaches the Korean that people actually speak — practical vocabulary, real expressions, and the everyday know-how you need to study, work, or live in Korea.

The site is written by Alvin Lim, a Certified Korean Language Teacher (Level 2, 한국어교원 2급) — a national teaching certification issued under Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Every guide is written from Seoul, with the vocabulary Koreans really use, not textbook-only phrases.

Alvin speaks Korean (native), English, and Mandarin Chinese, and has taught and guided learners from around the world. That multilingual background is why kfluent publishes in English, Traditional Chinese and Japanese — the Chinese edition is hand-localized for learners from Taiwan and Hong Kong, and the Japanese edition is AI-assisted translation reviewed for accuracy (and labeled as such on every Japanese page).
