Korean MonthsJanuary to December with romanization — free list
Korean months are simple: a Sino-Korean number + 월 (wol, "month"). So January is 일월 and March is 삼월. There are just two irregular ones — 6월 is 유월 (not 육월) and 10월 is 시월 (not 십월). This free list covers all twelve.

💡 Good to know
Watch the two irregulars: 유월 (June) drops the ㄱ of 육, and 시월 (October) drops the ㅂ of 십 — they are smoothed for easier pronunciation. The date (day of the month) also uses Sino numbers + 일: 6월 15일 = 유월 십오 일.
FAQ
- How do you say the months in Korean?
- Sino-Korean number + 월: 일월 January, 이월 February, 삼월 March … 십이월 December. The full list with romanization is above.
- Why is June 유월 and not 육월?
- June (6월) and October (10월) are irregular: 육월 smooths to 유월 and 십월 smooths to 시월 for easier pronunciation. All other months follow the regular number + 월 pattern.
- How do you write a date in Korean?
- Month + day, both with Sino numbers: 6월 15일 is 유월 십오 일. The order is month then day, the opposite of the day-month order used in many countries.
